I am not getting the rationale behind moving those assets for a rebuilding team

I needed a goalie so I can be compliant with the rules for goalie starts. Carey Price is arguably the best goalie in the world. And I want to be competitive. Plus I got two 1st rounders that could lopside in my favor

2 more chances at more lottery wins for a rebuilding team plus a top notch goalie.

Seems like a fair deal to me.

Same thing was said about me when I traded Petterson. Sometimes needs wants and preferences help in swaying a deal. I think that if its what he wanted and needed he should get it. Who are we to judge that. Its not like the trade was for a broken hockey net some real good assets got exchanged in the deal.

Everyone has there own way of building a team. I joined this league and have my own ideas. If that's taken from me I would not play here anymore. I say its a good deal.

Not saying to veto the deal, but feels like an odd move. Would have been okay for Hughes alone or with a lesser piece than Makar IMO

Price is 32 yr old, highly paid, injury prone and on a middle of the pack team
2020 1st WSR will be a good pick.
2021 Cool will probably be 10-14 range in two years, so more than likely 3 to 4 years before being fantasy relevant.

Moving a lottery winner (Hughes) for a possible lottery win a year later... meh
Add to that probably one of the next top 5 Offensive Dman in the league...

I think it's far from being a fair deal, but it's not my team so at each their own I guess
