Free Agency (claims + opening)
Posted: Tue Nov 03, 2020 7:45 am
With the Draft closing out (and I think in record time), and many asking me about fixing up rosters etc, we can begin looking forward to Free Agency (and with this comes waiver drops as well).
The waiver list has been updated to check for priority.
I will take the week to update the trades and drafted players on the tracker.
You may submit a list at anytime between now and Sunday at noon. I will then post the results of the claims.
We will open regular free agency Tuesday November 10th at noon (EST) where at that time you can sign one player every 12hrs (regular format). There is no weekly limit during the offseason.
Once FA opens drops can be made as well, and remember to post all drops in the waiver section where all players are subject to 48hr claim.
Below is the waiver free agency rundown:
Waivered Free Agency: OPENS: NOW CLOSES: 12:00 pm EST Sunday November 8th, 2020
Here is how it will work. In an attempt to make things as fair as possible for the entire league, rather than make it simply who can post signings quicker, all available players will be on waivers for a period. As well, in hopes to keep others from "poaching" players, it will be done by secret waiver claims. So, between now, and 12pm Saturday July 6th if you would like to make a claim on any of the free agents, please send me a private message ranking in order the waiver claims you would like to make. Please keep in mind that these will be waiver claims, and therefore your waiver priority will be affected.
Here is a brief rundown of how it will be done, the team with the top waiver priority will be given the top player on their claim list and then moved to the bottom of the waiver priority list. The new team with the top waiver priority will be given the top available player on their list, and moved to the bottom of the priority list. This will continue like this until a team has signed 4 players, or lists are exhausted. You can submit lists as with as many players as you wish in case a team with a higher waiver priority than you claims some of your hopeful players. If you choose to not submit a list, that is fine and your waiver priority will not be affected. After that 48 hour waiver period, then I will post the players claimed and the updated waiver priority and free agency will open as usual the following day with the 12 hour signed limit.
When you submit your list, feel free to include any special instructions as well. For example, if you only want to claim 2 players, not the max 4, even if you submit a long enough list, then just include that, and then you will only get the top 2 guys available on your list.
Essentially what you need to remember is that if there are any players you would like to submit a waiver claim for, please send me a PM over that period and recognize that these claims will be made without the knowledge of the rest of the league. If you wish, you can also send me your list early, as long as it is in before the June 20th deadline.
